I try not to ask for money, and try to be upfront about any links that might earn me any, but I have a plea for help for you all today. And its not for me or mine.
This is James. He’s a New Guinea Singing Dog, infact he’s a close cousin of Arty’s, he came from the same rescue Arty’s parents did. At that time one of his rear legs was already mostly missing, likely chewed off by his father due to the close quarters the dogs had been kept in. The remainder of the leg probly should have been removed then, he keeps trying walk on it and thats damaging his hips and back. Unfortunately for James that new home wasn’t to be his forever home.
Mid May, Ms Hooton, who runs Drool is Kool in TX, found out that James needed a new home. She already has one Singer in the house, and a bunch of mastiffs too. The pictures she was shown were old, showing James in good health. The above picture was taken the day she got him home, as were these:
And a month later:
Just getting James back up to weight (he weighed 18lbs when she picked him up, it should be closer to 30lbs), has turned into a set of expensive bills. After that he needs to be neutered and have the remainder of his leg removed to see if that helps with his hips and back. A Chipin has been set up to help cover his bills:
This $500 will barely start to cover things, but every little bit helps.
Edit: The Chipin closed when it reached it’s goal, if anyone would still like to participate you can send a Facebook message to Ms Hooton via the Drool is Kool page linked above, or let me know and I’ll get you in touch with her.
